The moment one admits and seeks help for a problem, the healing has begun. While being healed may not necessarily imply a pain-free state, whole-istic treatment can help to restore balance, peace, and wholeness to the body.
"A gifted physical therapist, Marilyn is a Godsend for this community. She has treated every member of my family at one time or another. With the hectic pace of modern life, it's easy to forget to take time to breathe. Marilyn inspires me to be more healthful and conscious of my physical being." - Laura S. Thurfield, Patient
Though known as Physical Therapy, addressing the physical problem enables one to heal on emotional, mental, and spiritual levels as well. Through the course of the treatment and healing process, patients learn that what they do physically affects them emotionally and mentally and vice versa. For example, stress and tension of a harried lifestyle becomes very evident in one's posture. The body, unable to continue in the dysfunctional manner, speaks out in a voice we know as "pain".
Pain in unavoidable. Inevitably a part of life, pain need not be incapacitating. Having a better understanding of pain and its source can allow one to view it as a guide, or in some cases, a blessing. Our cars, for example, are equipped with indicator lights to signal that something is wrong and unless we pay attention, the engine may leave us stranded.
At An Invitation to Heal, Ltd., patients have an opportunity to rely on pain, the body's indicator light, to gain an increased awareness and understanding of their bodies.
When the body speaks to us through pain, we would do well to accept the invitation and listen.
